Summer with Pathways

STEMify your education

The 21st Century Pathways Program Summer sessions are an exciting way for students to remain engaged throughout the break between academic school years. We offer exciting STEAM components that are not available during the school year, like Underwater Robotics! Each Friday our students attend an educational field trip, and we wrap up the summer with a Sleepover at the Field Museum!

Scheduled Events for Summer

SUMMER SESSIONS

 

June 8th - July 1st | 10:00 am - 2:00 pm |  El Centro 

 

Every weekday (M-F), Students will be log in to there online classrooms and meet with the project instructor from Monday threw Thursday. Fridays students will take part in a cultural class where they will learn about different cultures and languages.  

Dozin' with the Dinos

June 27th - 28th | Time: TBA 

 

Students with good attendance and behavior will be rewarded with an exciting sleepover at the field museum.

STUDENT PROJECT SHOWCASE NIGHT

 

July 1st | 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm |  El Centro

 

Families of our Pathways Summer Students will be invited to come and learn about the achievements of their students, and to experience first-hand the results of their hard work!

FAMILY PICNIC

 

July 27th | Time: TBA 

 

Come join us for a celebration to mark the end of our students' hard work and dedication. You will have the chance to mingle with other Pathways families and staff, and to watch students enjoy themselves with their peers. Delicious food will be provided for students and their families.

Summer Curriculum & Schedule

 

The Pathways online Summer Program will run for four weeks. Students will be log in to there online classrooms and meet with the project instructor from Monday threw Thursday. Fridays students will take part in a cultural class where they will learn about different cultures and languages.

Architecture
This project is both the process and product of planning, designing, and constructing buildings or any other structures. Architectural works, in the material form of buildings, are         
often perceived as cultural symbols and as works of art. 

 

Dance and Performance Arts
Enjoy plenty of activity and movement while learning about the historical and cultural significance of Folkloric Dance. Our instructors from Mexican Dance Ensemble will teach a variety of techniques in the dance studio while preparing students to show off their skills in a theater based performance.

 

Game Design 
This project will explore the area of game design by creating a video game. During the Summer of Innovation 2020, you will learn computational thinking skills, technology tools, and block-based programming. You will be able to engage in game design experiences to create and build your very own scratch game.

Mexican Folkloric Dance:

Enjoy plenty of activity and movement while learning about the historical and cultural significance of Mexican Folkloric Dance. Our instructors from Mexican Dance Ensemble will teach a variety of techniques in the dance studio while preparing students to show off their skills in a final performance.

 

On Fridays, Students will attend a cultural class in the morning. here they will  learn about different cultures from around the world as well as take part ins basic language learning such as ASL, Mandarin, and Spanish. after lunch students will comeback for crafts and we will end every Friday with our raffle drawings.
